Not a Star, But Learning to Dance
For those of you who take the time to read this blog, first I say thanks. It really means a lot to me that you would take a few minutes out of your life to read what I'm thinking. So, I'm going to share something with you before it's announced on the air. Here goes: I am competing in a local Dancin' with the Stars competition. I do NOT describe myself as a star- never have, never will, but I've been chosen to dance. (I don't really remember agreeing to it, I was just told my name had been submitted.)

It is for a good cause though. The money raised from the November 6th event will go to H.E.A.L.S. (Health Establishments at Local Schools) a non-profit organization that provides free medical and dental care to deserving children who otherwise might not see a doctor or a dentist.

Since late August, I've been taking lessons with a dance professional, and well, I'm still learning. My instructor is teaching me how to salsa. Click here to watch video of one of my recent dance lessons!

I thought I had rhythm- I need to re-think that, but my instructor says I'm making progress. We'll see.

Anyway, I need your help. Of course I want to win, but it's not about how well I dance, it's about the number of votes I get. Each vote costs $1.00. Again the money goes to H.E.A.L.S. For more information, contact me at lisa.washington@whnt.com or check out the H.E.A.L.S. website at http://www.orgsites.com/al/heals.
