The Shoulders I Stand On

I was out of work for the past few days. I had to go home for my grandfather's funeral. My grandfather's name is Eddie Washington. He was 87 years old, and like a father to me. My grandaddy lived a long full life. While I am saddened by this loss, I find comfort knowing there is nothing more I could have done to show him that I loved him. I never missed a Father's Day nor his birthday. So here's to my grandaddy- the shoulders I stand on.

Wow! What parallel lives we've lived recently. I too lost my Grandfather. He died on 2/5 and was buried on 2/9. He too was 87 years old....

AS A SINGLE MOM, MY FATHER RAISED MY SON AND DAUGHTER AS THEIR DAD'S NEVER COME AROUND. SO MY DAD IS MY CHILDRENS GRANDPA AND FATHER THEY NEVER HAD. SORRY ABOUT YOUR LOSS.

Lisa I went through all of your posts starting from the most recent. This was the very last and by far the most touching. Wonderfully spoken "you do stand on his shoulders" and can rest easily knowing he is smiling down on you!
Love
Dandee
